I Moved a Work Routine, Not Just an AI Prompt

My AI team and I moved Work Focus to my coaching assistant, including its historical journals and scheduled expiry job. The handoff involved a running routine, not just a new instruction.

Today my AI team and I moved Work Focus from my general assistant to my coaching assistant. The handoff included its two historical journals and its scheduled expiry job. We moved responsibility for an existing routine, rather than only changing which assistant should answer a question.

Earlier work had dealt with focus displays and structured goals. Today's change was about ownership: putting the work-specific routine with the assistant responsible for coaching, while leaving the other focus workflows where they were.

The history and the clock moved too

The journals were part of that responsibility. Moving them preserved the recorded work context alongside the new owner. The work log records checks of the host files, hashes and timestamps, so the handoff had evidence beyond a statement that the files had been moved.

The expiry job mattered for a different reason. A recurring workflow includes things that happen outside the conversation. Changing its conversational owner without moving the scheduled part would leave the handoff incomplete.

We also reloaded the coaching assistant's messaging connections without losing conversation history. That preserved another part of the existing workflow instead of treating the move as a fresh start with no past.

A useful boundary for the handoff

There is still a delivery limit. Nextcloud visibility was not verified because container access was denied. The host-file checks support the transfer on the server; they do not establish that the journals are visible through the synced service or on my devices.

Nor does this handoff demonstrate better coaching or improved follow-through. Today's evidence concerns where the routine lives, what moved with it and which checks were completed. Its effect on the work itself remains a separate question.

The practical lesson is to describe an AI responsibility as more than a prompt. In this case it included records, a scheduled action and conversation continuity. Moving those together makes the ownership change concrete and gives us specific things to check.

Evidence note: this account follows today's scoped work journal. It reports the handoff and its recorded checks, not an independent assessment of the coaching workflow.
